About Molagri

Molagri develops crop protection technology using engineered virus-like particles to deliver insecticidal payloads to selected pests. Founders Zaky Hassan and Min Jin trained in biochemistry at the University of Toronto, and the company joined Y Combinator’s Summer 2026 batch. Its October 14, 2026 announcement disclosed US$5.8 million (C$8.2 million) across pre-seed and seed funding. Convective Capital led the seed round; Julian Capital led the pre-seed. Molagri plans to expand its scientific team and research in Toronto, initially targeting pests in tree nuts and tree fruits. The technology remains in development; commercial field performance and the regulatory pathway are still to be established.
