On behalf of TorontoStarts Toronto’s Entrepreneur & Startup Community , Blakes, TruShield, The Story Architect, and Now Creative Group we would like to thank you for making TorontoStarts Startup Pitch Competition July 2017 event a great success. It was a full house at the Ted Rogers School of Management with over 150 attendees it left standing room only.

In under 2 ½ years TorontoStarts has grown from 130 members to over 5600! Hosting over 168 events & workshops. In case you’re wondering we’re averaging 6 events/mo. TorontoStarts has helped over 18,000 entrepreneurs. We have provided one on one hands on coaching to over 280 entrepreneurs. Across our social media platforms, we have almost 80,000 followers. The Startup Launch program including our business incubator with the City of Toronto has been a great success with over 160 startups being taught, coached, and mentored. In the fall, we are launching Startup Launch Accelerator program and we’ve recently launched our Startup Coach program with small group and one on one coaching sessions, Accountability groups, and our new Founder Club. Startup Talk, Toronto’s Startup Podcast season 2 is now being recorded, and you can apply to be interviewed.
Thought Leader and networking master Bobby Umar got the audience up and interacting within a minute of taking the stage
He followed up with mastering networking skills, tactics, and strategies. Bobby showed us why he is a 4 times TEDx speaker and named on of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Leadership Speakers.
The Legendary Dr. Sean Wise took the stage next. With over 15 years of seed funding experience, Wise has helped found five business ventures of his own to date, the first at age 13. When seeking the best in business, CBC recruited him as an online host and industry advisor for their hit show Dragons’ Den. He has seen more than 20,000 pitches and helped fund more than a billion dollars in startups. Dr. Sean Wise spoke on why now is the best time to be an entrepreneur and gave the audience the startup road map and best practices.
Kevin The Story Architect took the stage to introduce our amazing panel of judges including Dr. Sean Wise, Leah Carr of CrowdMatrix, Angel of the Year Angelo Del Duca of York Angels, Marc Shewchun of Blakes Law Nitro Program, and Tony O’Brien of TruShield.

The third competitor Xesto a developer tool for gesture recognition applications making hands-free applications development easy, quick, and precise presented their technology and company pitch.
Up next SmartFarm showed us how they are developing innovative technological solutions that empower farmers to manage their production.
The final competitor HealthyPets.io is Canada’s first virtual veterinary consultation platform. Connecting veterinarians with local pet owners on demand through video chat.
All off the competitors were great and the judges took their time deliberating but finally returned with results:
