OneEleven on The Startup Talk Podcast

In this episode of the Startup Talk Podcast, we were joined by Matthew Lombardi, Managing Director of OneEleven, a 55,000 square foot facility in the heart of downtown Toronto that provides open concept seating and private offices for growing technology companies.

Matthew began by sharing the history and mission of OneEleven, which is to support rapidly scaling technology companies by providing state-of-the-art facilities, programming, and a support network. He discussed how OneEleven’s open concept seating and private office spaces help companies grow with them, with month-to-month leases and secure, turnkey infrastructure.

Matthew then walked us through some of the state-of-the-art facilities and amenities offered at OneEleven, including 60+ meeting rooms, event space, podcast studios, a parenting room, secure bike storage, and a wellness, faith and meditation space. He also emphasized the importance of work-life balance and the facilities and amenities provided to support it.

Matthew also discussed the talent upskilling program offered at OneEleven, which focuses on four areas: marketing, customer success, product, and leadership. This program allows OneEleven companies to get the most out of their talent and ensure that emerging people managers are growing and learning as fast as their companies are scaling.

Matthew also spoke about the role of OneEleven in fostering the local technology ecosystem, from their 1,500-person TechSummer Social, to quarterly investor showcases, and health & wellness initiatives. He highlighted the key partnerships and collaborations that OneEleven has formed and the role of OneEleven in promoting the Toronto startup ecosystem to a global audience.

The interview concluded with Matthew discussing the future plans of OneEleven in terms of expansion and growth. He shared the upcoming events and initiatives that OneEleven is planning to host, and how OneEleven supports the growth of startups in the post-pandemic era.

This episode provided valuable insights into the workings of one of Canada’s leading technology incubators, and the support and resources that OneEleven provides to rapidly scaling tech companies.
