On April 18th TorontoStarts hosted, Tokens & ICOs Cryptocurrency Conference April 2018. The Startup Coach Toronto’s Entrepreneur mentor kicked off the evening. First off a TorontoStarts update. Notably, having grown to over 7100 members TorontoStarts is Toronto’s entrepreneur & Startup community. After 3 years of working with over 32000 entrepreneurs, the Startup Coach developed a series of workshops and crash courses. In brief, these courses are designed to take an entrepreneur from idea to launch. Ultimately giving them the skills to succeed and scale. Such as Idea Validation and Business Model Canvas Workshops. In addition to Marketing & PR, Social Media Workshop, and Startup Law. At the Same time, the 3 hour Crash courses include Growth Hacking Crash Course , SEO Crash Course, Social Media Crash Course.
TorontoStarts has monthly Startup Social Open Bar – Open Pitch – Open Network events. Including cryptocurrency corner for the digital currency inclined.
The Startup Launch Accelerator program is accepting applicants for it’s next cohort.
TokenFunder
With a Keynote presentation from Alan Wunsche Chief Token Officer at TokenFunder. TokenFunder is a security Token Funding and Growth Platform. Canada’s Regulated Security Token Offering, FNDR. Alan discussed TokenFunders history and how they worked with the Ontario Securities Commission to be the first ever to get the green light to a “initial token offering”. This means Toronto’s TokenFunder will be permitted to sell digital tokens to retail investors in to fund creation of its platform. The TokenFunder platform will allow other entrepreneurs to raise capital through their coin sales. TokenFunder’s Initial Token Offering ends in 7 days.
BitBuy
Followed by co-founder of InstaBT Jordan Anderson. Jordan discussed the humble origins of InstaBT in 2013. Running it out of a Toronto Condo. How it evolved into what is now BitBuy.ca. Bitbuy.ca does cryptocurrency procurement, merchant acceptance, and everything in between. Using Bitbuy you can purchase bitcoin at low rates for Interac purchases. Next they offer a merchant API where you can start accepting bitcoin on your site. There is a wealth of resources on BitBuy.ca FAQ.

The Tokens & ICOs Cryptocurrency Conference April 2018 continued next with the panel. Chetan Phull founder of SMARTBLOCK LAW joined the Token & ICO panel along with Alan, Jordan, and The Startup Coach. The Smartblock Law Blog is a fantastic legal resource for the cryptocurrency community.
